Hamilton Beach Engagement

A few years ago one of my best friends gave me a framed quote by C.S. Lewis that has become one of my favourites. I love it because it reminds me that the Lord is at work in every aspect of our lives, including our most beloved relationships. He writes,

“But in Friendship...we think we have chosen our peers. In reality, a few years' difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of another, posting to different regiments, the accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting—any of these chances might have kept us apart. Guelph Maternity Session

I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be out taking photos again. I've missed being behind my camera and meeting new people. This past week I had the privilege of photographing this sweet family. We had the most perfect summer light at one of my favourite outdoor locations in the Arboretum at the University of Guelph. I hope you enjoy scrolling because I had a hard time narrowing down my favourite images!

Document your days | A family through the years

This family is near and dear to my heart. Not only are they close family friends, but they were the very first photography client I ever had. I can still remember anxiously waiting for them in the parking lot. I was nervous and really hoping I wouldn't let them down with these photos. I wanted to preserve their precious family memories in a classic and timeless way. I wanted them to be able to look back at these photos one, two, ten, twenty years from now and remember exactly the way their kiddos felt in their arms. Fast forward 6 years and they have trusted me in taking their family photos every year since. It has been a privilege to be able to document their days. I hope you enjoy seeing their family grow through these photographs. I also hope it encourages you to reach out for a family session. Your family's love story is worth documenting, preserving and remembering.
